Tradus is a recently launched online marketplace for selling and buying used commercial vehicles and pre-owned equipment. No regular passenger cars, but heavy machinery such as trucks, vans, trailers, cranes and tractors. Buyers can easily compare used machines and vehicles from all over the world and find the right equipment for the job. Sellers, on the other hand, will accelerate their sales through the global exposure of the platform. A classic win-win.
Start-up with funding
The global trade volume of used equipment is over $ 400 billion per year and the segment is growing double digits. Martin Scheepbouwer (CEO Classifieds, Naspers) secured this opportunity in September 2016 by starting Tradus. He searched the talent database of the OLX Group and called Jorre Bonjer (ex-Bain & Company and with the OLX Group since 2013) to lead this adventure. Bonjer was promoted General Manager of Tradus and has the sole objective to grow the business with the speed of light. Tradus received a multimillion investment of multinational Naspers, but still benefits the freedom of an Amsterdam based start-up.
