About Holland Dairy
At Holland Dairy, their mission is clear: to buy raw milk directly from Ethiopian farmers for a fair price. Then they process the milk in their own factory, located in Debre Zeit, into a variety of high-quality dairy products. These are delivered – every 48 hours – directly to hundreds of shops in a highly fragmented sales market.
Holland Dairy was founded in 2009 by Dutch entrepreneurs. It is currently supported by Veris Investments and Friesland Campina, which is a Dutch food- and agri-business investor and one of the largest European dairy companies.
As it expanded from a start-up to a scale-up, Holland Dairy has experienced significant growth over recent years and their team has grown to three hundred FTEs. Now, they are well-positioned to further develop all processes and transition into a mature organization.
Holland Dairy already has a leading market position in the Ethiopian dairy market with a focus on premium quality yogurt. After a full rebrand in 2021, they have gained strong brand equity throughout Ethiopia.
Requirements*
- Master's degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of experience

CFO – Holland Dairy
The CFO is a crucial part of Holland Dairy’s diverse management team of both local and international professionals. They will lead the company’s financial management and IT teams and play a key role in developing and implementing the company’s future business strategy. This role’s responsibilities encompass a combination of financial and business control, and financial and business analysis by reporting using PowerBI, risk and IR management.
To succeed, this role requires an analytical mindset with a deep understanding of data and numbers and how to effectively apply them to manage crucial financial processes. They will lead a team of ten financial professionals and closely collaborate with other departments, manage all data collection, analyses, and company reports, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic financial planning and analysis, and cash flow management.
The CFO will also design and implement structured and streamlined processes and controls, and enable smooth financial, business and supply chain operations to support the company’s growth ambitions. They will report directly to the CEO and interact with shareholders, deliver strategic insights and advice needed to make important business decisions.
In this role, the CFO has a vision for the future of Holland Dairy in a fast-growing business. They will be analytical and proactive, pay close attention to detail and implement creative solutions to solve problems. The CFO will join other like-minded internationals, and become immersed in the local culture as well as become an expert on the Ethiopian market and support the brand in reaching its full potential.
This is an exciting opportunity for an adventurous and results-oriented individual with a background in accountancy, consultancy, banking, or private equity. This role should be prepared to relocate to Ethiopia and the opportunity to make a longer-term commitment.
